Question 1.30
NCERT Class XI Chemistry
What will be the mass of one 12C atom in g?
by Measurements (method 1)
by spectroscopic measurements, the mass is 1.992648 x 10^-23 kg
by Mole Concept (method 2)
Molar mass of 12C = 12.00 g/mol
Hence, 6.022 x 10^23 atoms of 12C have mass = 12.00 g
therefore, 1 atom of 12C has mass = 12.00/(6.022 x 10^23) = 1.992648 x 10^-23 kg Ans!
