A sum of Re. x is divided between A, B, C and D in the ratio 1/3 : 1/5 : 1/6 : 1/9. The difference between the amount of B and D is Re. 832. Find the value of x?
Solution in Detail
$\displaystyle LCM (3, 5, 6, 9) = 90$
Multiplying each by 90 the ratio is
$\displaystyle 30 : 18 : 15 : 10$
Share of B $\displaystyle = 18k$
Of D $\displaystyle = 10k$
Diff (given) $\displaystyle 832 = 18k - 10k$
$\displaystyle \therefore k = 104$
$\displaystyle \therefore x = 30k + 18k + 15k + 10k$
$\displaystyle = 73k = 73 \times 104$
$\displaystyle \therefore x = 7592\:\underline{ Ans}$
